Sun's game 7 vs. Lakers

Bill Simmons from ESPN.com on Kobe:

"Which reminds me, if Kobe doesn't completely eviscerate Bell in Game 7, everyone on the planet is banned from making any more Kobe-MJ comparisons. We all know that MJ would have dropped 55 on Bell, shut down Nash on the other end and disemboweled D'Antoni for good measure. Kobe, if you're going to steal MJ's fist clench/shake from Game 1 of the 1998 Finals without asking, you need to take this all the way. You cannot lose Game 7. You can't. Even if you're playing 4-on-5 and Jax keeps refusing to play Vujacic."

Kobe's line:

8/16 shooting
4/5 free throws
4/8 3-pointers
1 assist, 3 turnovers
4 rebounds

24 points (the telling line: 1 point in the 2nd half, 0-3 shooting)

Lakers lose 121-90. The point I'm making is Kobe didn't even go down swinging. He gave up at the start of the 2nd half. He didn't even try to go all Kobe on the Suns. I can't wait to hear what Simmons has to say about Kobe and if his man-crush on him will continue.

Best from the Draft Weekend

The NFL draft is over and writers from all over the USA are looking to make a name for them with indepth analysis of the draft. Here's a writer who made one of the most interesting comments on Jay Cutler, the first round pick of the Denver Broncos:

"Is this a knock on Jake Plummer [the Broncos current QB]? I don't think so. What it means is that Shanahan understands that you can't compete for a championship without a solid quarterback. It's the most important position in the NFL and now the Broncos have a solid future at the position. Great move because a lot of old-time quarterbacks loved this kid." -the Czar, FOXsports.com

Look at those first few lines again "Is this a knock on Jake Plummer? I don't think so. What it means is that Shanahan understands that you can't compete for a championship without a solid quarterback."

Isn't that like saying that the Americans deposing Saddam isn't a knock against the Saddam himself, but the US understands that you can't run a country well with him in charge? (Sorry all Broncos fans. This'll be the last time I compare Jake Plummer to Saddam)
