A casual update

Life here in Korea has settled into a little bit of a routine. The good news about a routine is that you have stability. The bad news is that you don't have much new and exciting things to write about.

I've been keeping busy as the new PowerPoint man at my church, doing the slides for the surface and things like that. I've yet to have a mistake free run yet, but this past week, my only mistake was misspelling "flame". I spelt it "flam" and unfortunately the spellcheck didn't pick it up. I'm using our pastor's laptop for this and everything is in Korean on it (well, the keyboard has both english and korean on it, but everything in powerpoint is in Korean) so I bring along my laptop to use as a cheat sheet when I'm working with his laptop.

I've got plans to finally go up to Seoul at the end of this month and then for our 4 day winter break I plan to go to China if all works out. It should only be about $300 for a plane ticket there. Finally I'll get to do some sight seeing. Unfortunately, since Christmas is on a Sunday and Christmas Eve is on a Saterday (Same for New Years) we get no days off for it. Our only break is the 30th of December off which will be our first vacation day since mid-October. Such is the life of a teacher with out the backing of the Ontario Teacher's Union :)

It's been snowing here. In Jeonju they get some lake effect (or I guess the geologically accurate wording would be Oceanic effect) snow, but the temp doesn't get cool enough to make it stay.

Christmas greetings to you all, especially my sister who will be home from Japan for the hollidays. I envy her a little.
